• What is a Celebrant?
    • A funeral celebrant is a qualified individual who works with a family to craft and conduct a ceremony befitting, and tailored to, the beliefs, values and desires of a deceased individual and their immediate family members.
  • Are Celebrant-led funerals always non-religious?
    • It depends. Celebrant-led funerals put the wishes of the deceased and the family at the heart of the service. So  they might or might not include aspects and components of "traditional" religious and/or funeral/burial ceremonies.
  • Are you a kind of minister, then?
    • No. My responsibilities are to the family and the deceased person. The services I conduct are not constrained by any particular religion. If you would prefer a traditional Christian service this is probably a better place to start.
  • Can we have hymns or prayers?
    • Yes! Singing together is a lovely, heart-warming experience. (I can arrange for an organist or choral backing music as an accompaniment.) And prayers - solemn requests for help or an expression of thanks - can be very comforting during a service.
